Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Owa Adesuyi Haastrup has promised to support People Living with Disabilities in Ijesaland.
The first-class monarch made the promise when the Association of Deaf People in Ijesaland paid a courtesy visit to him at his palace in Ilesa.
In a video obtained online, the association, led by its President whose name was only given as Femi, while speaking through an interpreter, sought the support of the monarch.
They told the monarch that despite their conditions, they refrained from begging for alms on the road, noting that they were working hard to make ends meet.
In his reply, Owa Haastrup promised his support for the association.
The monarch also urged well-to-do Ijesa indigenes to assist the association in whatever capacity.
The monarch said, “I sympathize with you and I will do whatever I can in my position to help you.
“I also want to appeal to well-to-do Ijesa indigenes to support these people in every way possible. I know God will provide for all of us as we do so for these special people.”
