Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has appealed to security agencies in the state not to turn Osun into a political battleground.

A statement by the spokesperson to the Governor, Olawale Rasheed, noted that Adeleke made the appeal during the decoration ceremony of his Aide-De-Camp (ADC), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ahmed Bio Abdulraman, held at the Government House, Osogbo.

Adeleke said the security agencies must remain neutral and professional as the state geared up for the 20226 gubernatorial election.

Governor Adeleke while commending security agencies in the state for consistently embracing professionalism, charged them to maintain neutrality in political activities, insisting that law enforcement must not be compromised by partisanship.

“We should continue to maintain a level playing field. This is the home state of Mr. President. Mr. President belongs to all of us. Osun should not be turned into a battleground,” the Governor emphasized.

He further highlighted the sacrifices of security operatives nationwide, remarking that the Nigeria Police remains a “blessed organisation” that deserves the appreciation of both the government and the people.
