Adeleke playing victim’s card, responsible for non-release of LG allocation – Adegoke

A gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Mr Kunle Adegoke (SAN) has disclosed that the state government is the one blocking the payment of the withheld allocations for local governments in the state.

The Osogbo-born lawyer stated this on Thursday while appearing on Arise Television Morning show.

According to the gubernatorial aspirant, the state government has been playing the victim card despite various lawsuits instituted by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration to stop the release of the withheld allocations.

He said, “The government of Osun through the state Attorney General, filed a lawsuit asking that the allocations not be released. They are the ones frustrating the release of the funds.

“If they are the ones saying the money should not be released and at the same time, going to the market to shout that they’ve not released the money, you should know that they are just playing the victim card.”.

Adegoke urged the Peoples Democratic Party and the state government to allow the allocations to be paid to the council officials elected under the APC.

“PDP and the government in Osun should allow the money to be released to the authentic leaders of the council that are in existence who have opened accounts with the Central Bank of Nigeria.”
