Foundation rescues 5-year-old girl after ‘physical abuse’ by aunt in Owode-Ede

A 5-year-old girl (name withheld) has been rescued by a Non-Governmental Organisation, Monsurat Ajoke Foundation, after alleged prolonged physical abuse by her aunt, Gbemisola Oladepo.

A statement by the Founder/Executive Director of the foundation, Monsurat Ibrahim, noted that the teenager suffered continued emotional, verbal, and physical abuse from Oladepo, a resident of Owode-Ede area of Osun.

The teenager had since been taken to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital for urgent medical attention.

According to the statement, the girl was found with several bruises and injuries all over her body when she was picked up.

It was gathered that a teacher at the school where the teenager is having her holiday coaching discovered the bruise and injuries.

It was also gathered that the sister has been arrested and taken to Zone XI Police Headquarters, Osogbo.
