The Founder and Executive Director of Temvert Empowerment Foundation, Temitayo Olatunde, has announced that the foundation will distribute a total of 10,000 sanitary pads to school girls in Osun and other selected states.
The sanitary pad distribution is under the ‘campaign against menstrual poverty among school girls’ which will be launched tomorrow, August 20, 2025.
Speaking with osun.life, Olatunde said the foundation has distributed over 5,000 materials to students in Osun State.
He also added that the foundation has done a similar thing in Ogun and Lagos States.
He said, “We discovered this is a serious problem and we intend to provide up to 10,000 free sanitary pads under our project (Campaign Against Menstrual Poverty among Schoolgirls)
“We have done a lot of work in Osun, Ogun, and Lagos State, and we gave out about 5,000 school materials to students in Osun State.”
Olatunde, however, urged the Osun State government to create a free sanitary pad scheme for school girls in the state.
“This is just a temporary solution. I want to urge the state government to create a free sanitary pad scheme for school girls. This will go a long way in assisting us”, Olatunde added.
