Osun 2026: Oyebamiji berates Adeleke for mismanaging N1trn

A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has berated Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for mismanaging close to N1 trillion accrued to the state in the last 30 months.

Oyebamiji, who is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), spoke during a consultative tour to the leadership and members of the APC in Ife-South and Ife-North, who pledged support and massive mobilisation for the actualisation of the AMBO project ahead of the August 8, 2026 guber election in Osun State.

Oyebamiji hinted that Osun has been receiving a financial windfall, an influx of over 300 per cent of what it used to obtain, yet nothing to show for the substantial allocation by the incumbent government.

Speaking during the consultation visits to Ife Federal Constituency on Sunday, Oyebamiji said the affairs of the state had been practically run aground under the current government, as manifested in the poor funding of education, health, infrastructure and key sectors in the state.

“Today, Osun is earning more than 300 per cent of what it used to get,t and everyone can attest that what is on the ground is not commensurate with the massive earnings.”

The NIWA boss explained that the state and local governments in Osun have received close to N1 trillion in the last 30 months of the Governor Adeleke administration, and yet the state has not been able to recruit teachers and health workers to improve the well-being of the citizens.

He said, “It is important for us to use whatever comes in as revenue, both at the national and state to better the lives of our people. It is essential for us to use our resources judiciously so that our people can benefit from the dividends of democracy. That is my motivation for being in the governorship race.
Imploring members of the party to mobilise people for the Continuous Voter Registration and collection of Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVC) as soon as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) begins the registration and PVC distribution.

Earlier, former Member, Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Rufus Ademola Ajibodu, former Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin Bamisayemi and Chairman of APC local government Chairmen, Elder Rufus Awotidoye, declared unflinching support for Oyebamiji. They described the NIWA Boss as a man of integrity, dignity, humility and competence, assuring the people of the state of his capacity to take Osun to the promised land.

“Oyebamiji’s exceptional quality makes him eminently qualified to administer the affairs of the state, particularly now that the President Bola Tinubu federal government is working assiduously to make more money for states to share and take good care of the citizens,” Ajibodu added.
