Former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, has assured that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will remain united after its 2026 governorship primary election, regardless of who emerges as the party’s flagbearer.
Speaking on Tuesday at the Tinubu/Shettima campaign office in Osogbo during the inauguration of 393 youths as gubernatorial canvassers for the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, Owoeye expressed confidence in the maturity of the party’s aspirants.
“I believe the party primaries will not cause rancour among the aspirants. They all understand that only one person will emerge, and I’m confident that the others will rally behind whoever is chosen. And if any disagreement arises, the party leadership will know how to handle it,” he stated.
Owoeye commended Oyebamiji’s grassroots-focused consultation strategy, saying it was helping to attract new supporters to the APC across the state.
“As part of our efforts to spread Oyebamiji’s vision, we are inaugurating 393 youths across all 332 wards in Osun to mobilise support for his emergence as the APC candidate and eventual Governor of the state,” he added.
Also speaking, former House of Representatives candidate Kayode Oduoye emphasised that the Youth Assembly was not only created for mobilisation but to ensure young people play active roles in the project to guarantee its success.
In his remarks, former state lawmaker Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye praised the campaign’s strategic approach to youth engagement, noting that political mobilisation is vital for democracy but that young people often face barriers to full participation.
