The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Timothy Owoeye has charged stakeholders within the health sector to coordinate an early response system to the coronavirus.
Owoeye who spoke during Friday’s plenary of the House said the Assembly is well aware of the second wave of the coronavirus.
He encouraged residents to begin to take necessary precautions to prevent community transmission of the disease.
He said “I am also charging the State Government and relevant health stakeholders to coordinate an early response system to this second wave, we did it during the first wave and we’re confident we can overcome any wave.”
“This house will proceed on its recess soon but before we then, we must develop and activate a working system that will safeguard our people during this pandemic period.” He concluded.
However, the State Government through the Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr. Rafiu Isamotu has charged residents of the state to be more cautious of the second wave of Coronavirus pandemic, saying that everybody should take responsibility for his or her life.
He said the State Government has redoubled it efforts in a bid to avert the spread of the dreaded COVID-19 in the state.
