The nominee for the position of Corp Commander into the Osun Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps, Brigadier General Biodun Adewinmbi (Rtd) has stressed the importance of vigilance group in the framework of the security formation.
Adewinmbi stated this during his screening at today’s plenary of the Osun State House of Assembly presided over by the Speaker, Timothy Owoeye.
The retired military officer when asked on how he intends to create synergy between the conventional and non conventional security men, said “Vigilante are the ones that sustain peace at the local level and they will be mobilised to go back to their former roles at the local level and gather intelligence and actions will be taken on it.”
The Nominee also harped on discipline which he promised will be the bedrock of the agency, he equally promised the respect of human dignity and fundamental human rights.
In his remarks, Brigadier General Isa Ademola Aderibigbe (Rtd) who was screened for the position of Chairman Governing Board said he is ready to impact his wealth of experience garnered over the years in military to ensure Amotekun achieve its aims and objectives in the state.
Amotekun is a creation of the Governors of Southwest in response to the incessant kidnapping and killings perpetrated by armed bandits across the region.
