Osun: Bill to establish ICT Institute in Iwo passes first reading

A bill for the establishment of Institute of Information and Communications Technology in Iwo, Osun State, yesterday passed first reading at the Nigerian Senate.

The bill titled Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Iwo, Bill 2020 is sponsored by Senator Adelere Oriolowo, representing Osun West Senatorial District.

Oriolowo said the bill will ensure the revitalization and resuscitation of Reality Television in Ìwọ and equally to establish an Education Institute in the form of Nigeria Institute of Journalism (NIJ) Lagos and Nigeria Film College in Jos in the premises of the broadcasting station.

In a telephone interview with our correspondence, the lawmaker emphasized that the facilities of Reality Television will ensure the smooth takeoff and transition of the Television house to Institute of ICT.

“I’m working assiduously to lobby my colleagues for the smooth passage of the bill. Upon passage, it will improve upon the human capacity and economic fortune of the people of Osun West Senatorial District.” he concluded.
