BREAKING: Osun Assembly resumes legislative activities

The State of Osun House of Assembly has resumed legislative activities to support the state in the fight against COVID-19.

Recall that the Assembly had on 23rd March, 2020, announced the suspension of all legislative activities for a period of 16days.

The Speaker of the 7th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, in a telephone conversation with our correspondent said the resumption is important and critical at this stage.

Owoeye said “The number 1 agenda on the 7th Assembly’s Legislative Agenda is Quality Legislation that’ll impact upon the lives of the citizenry”

“These are desperate times and the State can achieve more with a functional Assembly, we are rising up to the challenge and support this administration in its effort to combat the spread of coronavirus.”

The lawmaker while commending Governor Oyetola, members of the Executive Council, members of the COVID-19 state taskforce, members of the 21-man food and relief committee, health workers, security operatives and the press, promised that the Assembly will maintain the World Health Organization (WHO) social distancing standard upon resumption.
