Osun 21-man committee begins relief materials distribution next week

The 21-man committee constituted by the Governor of the State, H.E Gboyega Oyetola to cushion the effect of the lockdown order due to the deadly coronavirus ravaging the State, will next week begin the distribution of relief materials to residents of the State.

The alternate Chairman of the committee, Asiwaju Tunde Badmus made this known today during an interactive session with journalists at his GRA residence in Osogbo.

Chief Badmus, who is acting at the behest of the chairman, Pastor E.A Adeboye, attributed the delay of the committee to operational planning and logistics arrangement, also said members of his committee wanted a bank account different from the government.

The chairman disclosed that the committee has adopted five main modes of distribution namely;

  • Christian Association of Nigeria
  • League of Imams and Alfas
  • Traditional rulers in charge of local councils
  • Main political parties of All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
  • Organized Labour

The committee with a self-imposed target of 1 billion naira has at the moment raised 50million naira and 10 trailers of rice.

The committee has also fixed a weekend deadline for donation so as to be meet up with distribution next week.
