A mild drama ensued at a Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Osogbo as the Magistrate, Dr. Olusegun Ayilara ordered the arrest of all audience who were in court to attend court proceedings.
The Osun State Police Command had today arraigned two people, Omodele Titilayo, female aged 45 and Sulaimon Basharu, male aged 24, before the Chief Magistrate’s Court for violating the lockdown order of the State Government.
Chief Magistrate O.A Ayilara on getting to court met a large crowd of people who were in total violation of the lockdown order of the state.
Ayilara later called for identification of relatives of the accused persons and ordered that the remaining people in the court be arrested and arraigned before the court for violation of the lockdown order.
Recall that Governor Oyetola had last week Thursday signed the Osun Infectious Diseases (Emergency Prevention) Regulations 2020. The Governor noted that he made the order in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) and other relevant provisions of the State of Osun Public Health Law.
In his ruling, Magistrate O.A Ayilara sentenced the accused persons to one-month imprisonment or a fine of N5,000.
