Barring any last minute change, Governor Gboyega Oyetola will on Monday sign the 2020 Appropriation Bill into law.
The Governor who intends to return the State to a January-December budget cycle, had on November 14, 2019 submitted the 2020 budget, themed ‘Budget of Restoration’ to the State House of Assembly.
However, the State House of Assembly had passed the budget on the 24th of December and transmitted same to the Executive Governor for assent.
The passed budget has a total of N119,550,401,40 with recurrent expenditure at N57,674,993,990 and capital expenditure at N61,875,407,50.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye expressed optimism that the budget will put Osun on the path to sustainable growth and development. He equally charged the executive arm to ensure the full implementation of the budget for the benefit of all Osun people.
