An Osun State based Medical Practitioner, Dr. Ishola Familusi has disclosed the remarkable drop in the level of resident’s infection of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
He said according to National Aids Indicator Strategy (NAIS), Osun state has dropped from 2.8% of the infection level to as low as 0.9%.
Dr. Familusi made this assertion today while featuring on a current affair issues based program on RAVE FM “Frank Talk” , monitored by osun.life.
He explained that the virus has moved from the stage of incurable that could lead to the death of those infected to a treatable and manageable virus.
When enlisting the precautionary steps to the virus, the expert enjoined those infected not to desist from from going for treatment. He also cautioned against unprotected sexual intercourse and the use of unkept sharp objects.
Familusi who maintained that funding is one of the major bane of HIV/AIDS awareness, however charged all and sundry to help in the campaign against this disease.
