A former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Najeem Salam has described unemployment as the basis of insecurity in the Country.
Salam made this known during a public lecture organised yesterday by the National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS) themed ” Good Governance & Public Security: Pathway to Economic Development.
The Ejigbo born politician who emphasized that for a nation to economically and socially develop, the need for involvement of the youths can never be overemphasised, as any society that doesn’t regard the presence of youths would always be backward.
The astute politcian who bemoaned the high level of youth unemployment said it is the basis of the insecurity the country is currently facing.
He however eulogized the youths for being energetic, saying if such energy is directed towards the development of the country, it will go a long way in making the country a better place.
Salam who was also decorated as the Patron of the Association, commended the effort of the organisers and pledged his total support for the organization.
