Venture into politics, Osun Speaker urges religious leaders

The Speaker of the State of Osun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, has urged religious leaders to venture into politics.

Owoeye made the remarks at Foursquare Gospel Church, Ilesha, during the funeral service of Rev. Barr. Peter Sunday Aluko who died recently at the age of 58.

Speaking at the event, Owoeye said “There is an urgent need for our religious leaders to embrace politics, it will go a long way in correcting the many wrongs we have and put our society on the right path to development. A nation rejoices when the righteous is in power.”

Commending the Speaker, Dr. Olumide Owoeye, expressed gratitude at the Speaker’s message. Dr. Owoeye who described the call as a right one said only men of God can rule with the fear of God. He added that should the righteous venture into politics, it will truly help correct the many wrongs associated with today’s leadership in the country.

In his remarks, the District Officer of Foursquare Gospel Church, Agbado, Lagos, Rev. J.O Ajogbeje, thanked the speaker for the charge and promised to take it up with the Christian Association of Nigeria. He later prayed for the Speaker and wished him a successful tenure in office.

Late PSA as he was fondly called was a Consultant and Managing Director at the Golden Triangle Law Firm and a card carrying member of the All Progressives Congress in Ward 1, Ilesha East Local Government.
