The leadership of Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State have declared three days of mourning over the death of three of its chieftains that occurred within the last seven days.
According to a statement from the State Secretary of the party, Mr. Bola Ajao, a copy which was obtained by osun.life, it said all activities of the opposition party shall be suspended while prayers would be offered for the families of the departed souls and also the party in general.
According to him, PDP has lost three chieftains with few hours.
“With heavy heart but with total submission to the will of God Almighty in honour and in prayers for the souls of our departed chieftains that have been variously described as ‘many death too many, in a couple of hours, It will be recalled that on Sunday the party lost Boluwaduro Local Government PDP Chairman Hon Bade Ogundiran, Hon Edward Keshinro ex Vice-Chairman, Ilesa West and just yesterday, Mr. Olaosebikan Jegede, PDP Chairman, Oriade Local Government.
“The State leadership of our great party PDP has declared a 3 day mourning period. This is to honour and offer prayers for our departed colleagues. For the 3 days, formal party activities of all sorts are put on hold. It is from God we all came and it is unto Him we shall all return”, the statement concluded.
