Osun State government under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola has directed both the public and private schools in the state to proceed on third term holidays on Friday 26th July 2019 for 2018/2019 academic session while they are expected to commence fresh academic year on 16th September, 2019.
The notice of closure of academic activities for the session was contained in a public service announcement signed by the permanent secretary, Ministry of Information, Mr. Festus Olajide, a copy which was made available to osun.life yesterday, in Osogbo, the state capital.
While wishing them an eventful holiday, the PS Ministry of Education enjoined all parents and guardians to monitor their children/ wards properly and be security conscious during the holidays
The message reads, ” In line with the 2018/2019 School calendar, the State Government of Osun Ministry of Education hereby informs the General Public, Parents and Guardians, Principals and Head Teachers, Learners that all Public and Private Schools are to go on Third Term holidays on Friday 26th July 2019″.
“The Ministry of Education enjoins Parents and Guardians to monitor their children/ wards properly and be security conscious during the holidays. All Public and Private Schools are to reopen for a new session on Monday 16th September 2019”.
Similarly, the Permanent Secretary, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Fatai Kolawole, advised the pupils to use the long break maximally and distance themselves from activities that could limit their potentials.
