Osun remains a safe haven, Police insists

The Osun State Police Command has assured the residents of the state, motorists including travelers passing through Osun that the state remains a safe haven for all and that the command is doing her best to curb the rising spate of security challenges.

This assurance was contained in a press release sent to newsmen in Osogbo, the state cap noital today by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP FOLASADE ODORO, a copy which was made available to osun.life.

The release said, ” in order to put an end to all forms of violent crimes and criminal activities across the State, the raiding of criminal hideouts/black spots along major highways and environs, unrelenting effort of security personnel has led to the apprehension of suspected thirteen (13) hoodlums which are presently undergoing thorough investigation to ascertain their level of involvement relating to violent crimes on the major highways and major towns within the State”

“Moreso, in the interest of peace and tranquility, the Police Command is using this medium to warn all rumour mongers against all acts of misinforming the public through social media platforms in circulating false rumours thus creating wrong impression of insecurity and crisis in the State”

“The Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Ige reiterates that the existing peace in the State which is not negotiable will be sustained and maintained as visibility policing is being intensified to forestall any break down of law and order”

“Lastly, the good people of the State are advised to go about their lawful businesses without fear of any intimidation and to give prompt report of any suspicion by calling the following distress call numbers: 08039537995, 08123823981, 08075872433 or report to the nearest Police Station and Sister Security Agencies”
