The Nigerian Bar Association, Osogbo branch, has felicitated with the duo of Distinguished Senator (Dr.) Ajibola Basiru and Hon. Bamidele Salam, on their successful swearing in as members of the upper and lower chambers of the 9th National Assembly respectively.

In a congratulatory message signed by the publicity secretary of the association, a copy which was made available to osun.life, the local NBA chamber described the two lawmakers as prominent members of the association and expressed their confidence in duo’s ability to contribute meaningful well into the business of legislative governance at the national assembly.

The message reads further that “It is our satisfaction that the two learned gentlemen are adequately equipped with what it takes to provide a clear legislative representation such as critically needed for acceleration of the country’s development at a time like this”

“Although, members of different political parties, the two gentlemen are members of our united family, the Osogbo Bar. And with that cord, our belief in their unanimity of commitment to the cause of the nation is unwavering”

“It is not a coincidence that the two men are members of a pro-good governance Bar like ours. History has recorded them as unrepentant seekers of good governance, such that they were expelled from the same university on the same day, on account of no crime but their uncompromising agitation for a better life for their fellow students, as students’ leaders that they were at the time”

Undaunted, the duo went on to read Law and ended up as members of the better-life-seeking Osogbo Bar. It is not surprising, therefore, that today, they have been found worthy to represent their communities as makers of laws for the good governance of their fatherland in the country’s highest legislative temple”

“While we rejoice with these fine gentlemen of the Bar, we congratulate the good people of Osun on their choice of the two cerebral pro-people advocates as their voices in the National Assembly”

“We congratulate the duo and wish them a successful legislative sojourn at the Red and Green Chambers respectively, just as they are put on notice to expect our due criticisms when and where found required”, the statement concluded.
