Osun Mobile Money Agents lament poor network, bank inadequacies

By Adebowale Adebukola

The Association of Osun State Mobile Money Agents has lamented the incessant poor network and bank inadequacies as major factors affecting their efficiency and service delivery across the State.

This was revealed today at a workshop tagged “Exploring Opportunities in Agency Banking and Dealing with Prevailing Challenges”, held at the Aurora Event Centre, located along Ring- Road, Osogbo, the State capital.

The sensitization workshop which had different representatives from across the state was aimed at seeking solutions to the challenges being faced by the mobile money agents in the state and also to expose them to emerging market trends.

While addressing the participants, one of the guest speakers at the event, Mr. Joshua Oyeniyi said the major challenge facing the money agents were mainly the network instabilities and the inadequacies of commercial banks in providing the necessary information and assistance when needed.

Mr. Oyeniyi, however, used the opportunity to call on the affected stakeholders including the regulators of the business to ensure that all hands are on deck towards tackling the problems in order to ensure hitch-free mobile banking services in the state.
