A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Engr. Segun Adebiyi, has opined that the appeal court panel will affirm what the whole word knows that the All Progressives Congress and incumbent Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, lost the Guber election at the first ballot.
Adebiyi who stated this during a telephone interview with our correspondent said it was the Osun governorship election that called the integrity of President Buhari to question especially as regards the gains made on our electoral reforms by the immediate past government.
“The president even made matters worse when he openly declared that his party, the APC won that election by remote control during an interactive session with traditional rulers in the state during the build up to the last general election.” he added.
When asked about his party’s chances if a fresh election is ordered, he reiterated that the governorship election in Osun is a very different ball game in that it was more of a referendum against bad governance as witnessed in the management of the lean resources that accrued to the state government for eight years under the immediate past administration. He also added that the over 100,000 votes scored by the candidate of the SDP, Senator Iyiola Omisore, will be added to the PDP’s
He concluded by saying his party, the PDP will win again in a free, fair and credible election.
