Gbajabiamila declares House Speakership bid as PDP’s Oluwole Oke endorses candidacy

A People’s Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Hon. Oluwole Oke, has endorsed the candidature of Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the ninth Assembly.

Oke who made the remarks at the formal declaration of Gbajabiamila’s intention, said he has known Mr Gbajabiamila for some time and has been notified personally by him of his intention to contest.

The PDP reps member who is returning to the green chamber for the fourth term said there is nobody in the House that is more qualified for the job than Mr Gbajabiamila.

“We from the southwest are giving you one of our best”

“I, Wole Oke will be with him all through,” he said.

The event which held at the Lagos/Osun hall of Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, had in attendance the former special adviser to the President on National Assembly (Reps) Kawu Sumaila who is also a member elect, Khadija Bukar, former minister of state for foreign affairs, Tahir Mongono, Abdulmumin Jibrin, Nasir Ali-Ahmed, Magaji Dau-Aliyu among others.

Femi Gbajabiamila is the lawmaker, who represents Surulere II Federal constituency of Lagos State in the House of Representatives, he will be a fifth term member in the next assembly.`His party, the APC enjoys a clear majority in the incoming House of Representatives, winning over 200 of the 360 seats.
