The Christian Outreach Center on Monday, the 1st of January, 2019, laid the foundation for the construction of a Non-Profit Specialist Hospital to improve healthcare delivery in the Country.

The stone laying ceremony of the 12 male and female wards hospital was attended by members of the organization, Christian and Community Leaders, Staffs of the Construction Company and members of the public.

As Christians believe that the Lord is the ultimate builder, the significant stone laying ceremony was conducted by Rev. Enitan Oludare Olujide of the Cathedral Church of Holy Trinity, Ilesha. Rev. Oludare who expressed his joy and delight at being part of the epoch making event said the Specialist hospital will help the people of the State in accessing quality healthcare service and that the people of the community have a reason to thank God for being the closest beneficiary.

In his remarks, the Founder and Chief Host, Dr. Busayo Awe, took the audience down memory lane, giving an abstract account of how the organization started and what they’ve been able to achieve so far.

The organization which started 15 years ago has been able to impact 54,000 lives at an average of 4,500 lives per year. Christian Outreach Center’s goal is to provide basic medical treatment and health education for people living in rural Nigeria. A lack of adequate medical infrastructure in Nigeria means that many people die from preventable and manageable medical ailments such as high blood pressure and diabetes.

‘’By providing basic medical treatment and health education, the Christian Outreach Center helps Nigerians lead healthier lives. Our team of doctors and nurses volunteer their time to conduct regular medical outreaches to vulnerable, rural communities in Southwest Nigeria.’’ Awe said.

In a brief chat with our correspondent, Dr. Awe said his organization is not looking at the Government for support but rather free spirited individual. He also enjoined individuals to step up and do more, saying the Government is overstretched already and their efforts must be complimented.
