The Honourable representing Ife North state constituency, Honourable Tunde Olatunji has described the defection of some of the state assembly members to the opposition parties PDP, ADC and ADP as inconsequential.
Olatunji made this known on Monday, during a current affair programme “Frank Talk” on Rave 91.7 FM in Oshogbo.
It would be recalled that three state House of assembly members defected to the ADP namely; Hon Tajudeen Famuyide from Ilesha west, Hon. Debo Akanbi from Ede North and Hon. Abdulahi Ibraheem representing Iwo state constituency.
While Honourable representing Odo otin state constituency, Honourable Dr. Olaolu Oyeniran defected to ADC, Honourable Akanni representing Ila state constituency defected to PDP.
Olatunji described their defection as inconsequential and not a big deal, while noting that APC is still the majority in the house regardless any defection.
In his word he said “Osun state house of Assembly is one united family regardless of political affiliation of members. What happened recently is not a big deal, it’s inconsequential.”
“Right from the inception of the house , we have had a minority member of the house who have always been part of us, don’t forget those who decamped are just seven and still fall within the category of the minority, we are talking about a house of 26 members and just 7 opposition members” Olatunji added .
