The Nigeria Police Force has disclosed that eight commissioners of police will be deployed to supervise the Osun State Governorship election.
The force disclosed on Friday this via their verified twitter handle @PoliceNg. The statement signed by the force PRO, DCP Jimoh Moshood, was in response to earlier reports that 30 commissioners will be deployed to monitor the election.
The tweet reads “2018 press release Eight (8) commissioners of police will be deployed to supervise security arraignments for the Osun state Gubernatorial elections and not Thirty (30) commissioners of police as reported by some sections of the media”.
osun.life recalls that INEC had earlier disclosed on Thursday, at the stakeholders meeting organised in Osogbo, the state capital, by the Inspector General of police that 16,000 policemen will be deployed to man INEC facilities for the Osun September 22nd Governorship election.
