Iwo Killing: Oriolowo condoles victim’s family, says culpable officers must face prosecution

A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Adelere Oriolowo, has commiserated with the family of the late Nafiu Tunde, a student who was killed in Iwo by a police officer attached to the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).

He berated the act when he spoke to osun.life via telephone on Saturday.

Oriolowo who described the incident as a very sad one, said he identifies with the victim’s family during this difficult period and also prayed for the repose of the late Student.

Oriolowo who commended the swift effort of the police under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fimihan Adeoye, to restore peace to the troubled area and visit the victim’s family, said the police authority must ensure that the arrested officers face prosecution after swift investigation.

Lastly, he saluted the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, for his indispensable role in bringing calm to the town which was on the verge of turmoil following reprisal attacks by angry youths of the town on the Area Commander’s office.
