Aregbesola Flags Off Construction of 308km Rural Roads by Osun RAMP

THE Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has today flagged off the construction and rehabilitation of 308km Road and 26 numbers river crossing across Osun State.
Speaking at the event, the project coordinator of Osun Rural Access and Mobility Project, Engineer Adelere Oriolowo thanked God and State Government for giving the agency the opportunity to explore all its projects. 
‘I thank the governor and his Deputy for their support because they have been the pillar of this success made by Osun Rural Access and Mobility Project.  The support enjoyed by the Agency from the State Government is second to none, this has been helping the project to maintain its leading role among its peers’ Oriolowo said.
Engr. Oriolowo who further stated that the Agency would not have come this far,  if not for the financial support of World Bank and French Development Agency, said the support has brought about the rehabilitation of our rural communities. He also reiterated the commitment of the World Bank in preparing another package of additional $50 million due to the agency’s performance in the first tranche.
While analyzing the benefits of the completion of the first tranche, the project coordinator said the construction of 214.14km roads has immensely helped the opening up of rural communities and enabled farmers to transport their produce to nearby markets and also have access to basic amenities which has improved the standard of living of rural dwellers.

The event had notable dignitaries in attendance such as the National coordinator Rural Access and Mobility Project,  Engineer Ubandoma Ularamu, the Deputy Governor, Titi -Laoye Tomori, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Najeem Salam, Traditional Rulers, Market women Association, among others.
