Police arraign 30-year-old man over alleged fraud

A 30-year-old man, Olatoke Wasiu has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court over alleged fraud.

Police arraigned Wasiu on Tuesday before Magistrate O. O Oladoke on two count charge bothering on fraud and stealing.

The prosecutor Inspector Jafani Muslim told the court the the accused committed the offense between March 28th and 30th, 2018 at Olude area in Osogbo.

He further explained that the defendant fraudulently obtained the sum of 700,000 from Omotosho Aanuoluwa Gideon with the pretence of selling a 2007 Toyota Corolla Sport model to him.

He added that the offense contravene section 419, section 383 and punishable under section 390 (9) of the criminal code cap 34 volume 11.laws of Osun State 2003.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the two count charge alleged against him.

The Magistrate Mr O. O Oladoke granted the defendant bail of 300,000 with two sureties.

Sureties are to swore to affidavit of means, produce three passports photographs and evidence of tax payments to the State government.

The case was adjourned to August 21 for hearing.
