A 20-year-old man, Adetioye Imole, has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court, sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, over alleged stealing.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Jafani Muslim, told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 26, 2018 at National Examination Council’s Office, Ogo-Oluwa Area, Osogbo.
Faced with two count charge of theft and pretence, the accused who was with legal representative, pleaded not guilty to the two count charge.
The Prosecutor further stated that the defendant stole the sum of Two Hundred and Thirty Thousand Naira (N232,000.00) only, property of one Olarewaju Oriladewa, (M).
He also submitted that the offence contravened the section 383 and punishable under section 390 (9) of the criminal code CAP 34 Vol 11 Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003
The legal representative told the court that the issue has been resolved between the complainant, Olanrewaju Oriladewa and the accused family, He thereby implore the Magistrate to look into the matter and set his client free.
The complainant also told the court that the matter has been resolved amicably, he urged the court to set the accused free.
However, the Magistrate, Mr Ola Oladoke, ordered that the accused be discharged and set free.
