Court remands teenage duo over alleged stealing

The Osun State Police Command has arraigned two teenagers Afeez Arole, 18 and Muritala Ridwan, 19, before an Osogbo Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing and house breaking.

 

The two were docked before Magistrate Segun Ayilara on four count charge bearing on felony to wit stealing.

 

The Prosecutor, Inspector Olayiwola Razaq, informed the court that the suspects committed the offence on July 19, 2018 at about 7am at Owode Ilesa road in Osogbo.

 

He further explained that the accused broke into the dwelling house of one Oladosu Adam, (M), with intent to commit felony to wit stealing. The accused stole the following items: gas cylinder valued N6,000, Jinang generator valued N13,600, one pressing iron valued N1,650, one step down valued N1,100 and one clipper valued N2,500, property of one Oladosu Adam, (M).

 

The prosecutor submitted the offence contravene section 390 (9) of criminal code cap 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.

 

The defendant pleaded guilty to the four count charge levelled against them by the Police.

 

The Magistrate ruled that the accused be remanded in prison custody, and inform them to bring their parents on next appearance.

 

The case was adjourned to September 5th, 2018, for sentencing.
