Police arraign 22-year-old man over alleged theft of motorcycle

A 22-year-old man, Olawuni Alaba, has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court, sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, over alleged theft of motorcycle.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Fatoba, told the court that the accused committed the offense on June 27, 2018 at Ota-Efun area, Osogbo.

Faced with a two count charge on theft and conspiracy, the accused who was without legal representation pleaded guilty to the two count charge.

The Prosecutor further stated that the defendant conspired with others at large to steal a motorcycle with registration number GC 395 EJG belonging to one Muraina Taiwo, valued at N61,500.

He also submitted that the offence contravened section 516 and 383 (1) and section 390 (9) (10a) of the criminal code Cap 34 Vol.11 laws of Osun, 2003.

However, the Magistrate, Mr Ola Oladoke, ordered that the accused be remanded in Ilesha prison custody and thereby adjourned the case till July 24, 2018.
