A young resident of Osogbo in Osun State, Olaniyan Opeyemi, has rained curses on officers of the SIB, a unit in the Osun State Police Command, after he was tortured and tasered for three hours for allegedly being a Yahoo boy.
A traumatic Opeyemi who went online to explain his ordeal in the hands of the police officers, said specifically on the 18th of May, he was picked up on his way to work and dragged into a white bus just because he had an iPhone.
Opeyemi who was taken to their office, said he was denied access to lawyer and family. He was beaten and tasered for three hours. He also said that several others who were brought under the guise of being a suspected fraudster (Yahoo Yahoo) were severely beaten too.
The victim who regarded the men as ‘bastards’ said they have no regard for the rule of law. He said “when they realized there’s not much they could do to break me. They had to let me call my mom. God bless her heart, she raised so much shitstorm they had to let me go in 5minutes that she arrived at the Police Station. She’s not easily intimidated. Proud of that woman.”
Furthermore, he said “I’m just a man trying to make an honest living but these sly dysfunctional bastards are hell bent on robbing me of my peace of mind. Ha! Eni kuure o, gbogbo eyin te fiyaje mi ni SIB Osogbo. E o ni fi owo yen shey nkan ire. Ofo le ma se!”
However, Master Olaniyan who said he is not soliciting for pity, opined that he has zero faith in the system to take care of these bad eggs. He later called out the #ReformPoliceNG movement, describing it as a farce.
Lastly, our correspondent reached out to the Police PPRO in the State, Mrs Folasade Odoro, for a reaction, a message sent to her on the subject matter is yet to be responded to as at the time of this report.
