Declaring at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Secretariat in Osogbo amidst fanfare and hundreds of supporters, the Guber aspirant submitted his letter of intent to the Party Chairman and the State Working Committee.
Hon. Bello while addressing the party faithful, thanked God and the party members for their steadfastness during the crisis that has rocked the party, both at the National level and at State level.

Furthermore, he promised the party a minimum of 60,000 votes from Ede, his domain, if elected as the party’s flag bearer. This he echoed by referencing a discussion he had with the Party Chairman, Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo, during the Osun West Senatorial by-election, he said he had told him that the party will win in Ede with a minimum margin of 25,000 votes and this was however achieved with a margin of 27,000 votes.

He lauded Hon. Bello’s integrity as being honest and sincere, a leader with the fear of God. He later went down the memory lane discussing their rancour-free relationship during his time as an Honourable member of the State House of Assembly while the Guber aspirant was the Speaker.
Adagunodo, also used the opportunity to call on all members to be wary of the antics of the present regime to rig the upcoming governorship election. This he alleged by saying the Governor had built a house for the top INEC Electoral Officer in Boluwaduro LGA and that the case has been reported to the INEC headquarters for further investigation.
