A 43-year-old man, Ganiyu Saheed, was on Monday arraigned in an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged burglary.
The News Agency of Nigetia, NAN reports hat Saheed is facing an 11-count charge bothering on burglary and theft.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that the defendant committed the offenses on Jan. 26, at Halleluyah Estate area in Osogbo.
Saheed who conspired with others still at large, was alleged to had broken into the apartments of Usman Gafaru, Adeniyi Akiola, Biodun Bankole, Gbenga Ojo and Uthman Abdulfatai.
The prosecutor said that the accused and his accomplice carted away some household items valued at N312, 000.
The prosecutor alleged that the items stolen include Infinix hot phone, laptops, IPhone 6, Nokia phone, wedding ring, wristwatch and electronic gadgets.
He said the accused also stole bottles of Hennessey, school bag and Itel 1407, before he was apprehended and brought to the court.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 516, 411, and 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. 11 Laws of Osun, 2003.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs Mary Awodele, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200, 000 and two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned until Oct. 9 for hearing.
