The remains of the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of General Services, Office of the Governor, Osun State, Mrs Olufunke Kolawole, who was abducted and murdered by suspected kidnappers along Okenne-Abuja road, on Thursday, have arrived Osogbo.
The ambulance sent by the state government to Abuja, brought her corpse to the state capital, on Friday evening amidst wailings and fury among family members and friends of the deceased.
Her corpse has been deposited in the morgue of Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH), Osogbo.
When Sunday Tribune visited the residence of the deceased on the outskirt of Osogbo, sympathisers, who wore forlone faces as tension pervaded the environment.
None of the persons approached was willing to speak.
On the government plan for the family of the slain permanent secretary, the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Lani Baderinwa, said: “We are deeply worried and empathise with her family. We will continue to identify with them over this shocking grief.
“We are waiting for the family to come up with the burial arrangements and see where the government can assist. “It is a painful loss to us in Osun.”
She was brutally attacked by her abductors while travelling along Okene – Abuja road on her way to Abuja on Thursday, for an official assignment.
