In a few months time, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola would have spent seven years as the Governor of the State of Osun. However, eminent personalities from Osun State have disagreed over the performances of incumbent Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. With many believing he has failed woefully, some actually believe he has done well and should be commended.
Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who came into office through an Appeal Court Judgement in November 27, 2010, was re-elected on August 9, 2014. With eighteen months to the end of his constitutionally allowed 2 terms in office. To commemorate this year’s Democracy Day, osun.life News spoke with some political leaders and businessmen on his performances. Their opinions are highlighted below;

A former Speaker of the State House of Assembly set the ball rolling by accusing the State Governor of plunging Osun State into a monumental debt and waste which will take incoming generations decades to overcome. He said “We must rise up collectively and be patriots in 2018, the ripples and effects of Aregbesola’s disastrous administration will be felt over the years to come, now is the time to start the rebuilding process. It is sad that a state with experienced hands and administrators
can suffer this unprecedented level of maladministration. We must convey a roundtable and pick brains from Osun’s best to see how we can get out of this financial
hellhole Aregbesola’s taken us.”
Ayodeji Ogedengbe
A businessman and local investor in his own remarks complained about the poor economic policies of the present administration. He said “I am worried about the rate at which projects are being abandoned. How impactful are the projects being embarked upon? Most of the monumental projects are not being handled by locally based firms which has really affected the injection of cash into our local economy”.

Meanwhile, A Political Leader in Obokun LGA stressed that anywhere in the world the primary responsibility of government is welfare and security. He expressed dissatisfaction at the poor treatment being melted to Pensioners and Civil Servants in the State.
