The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has implored the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede and the new Executive Secretaries of the 10 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas, LCDAs within the Ife Federal Constituency to serve with the fear of God who has put them in their respective exalted positions.
The monarch stated this yesterday when Dr. Yemi Ogunbiyi, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council of OAU presented the new VC to the monarch in his palace.

Ooni Ogunwusi appreciated the great work done by Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the Institution, Dr. Ogunbiyi by ensuring a transparent procedure that produced the new VC for the Ivory Tower.
The process was rancour-free and the new VC acceptable to the generality of the university community.
His words; “If peace eludes OAU, it will have negative effect on the entire community, but I thank God that peace, the most cherished commodity, has been firmly established in the University.”
The monarch also charged the new Local Government administrators saying; “A leader is a messenger because when you send someone on an errand, you expect the individual to bring report to you, but we are sort of seeing the reverse in our nation as most politicians who are supposed to be messengers are now being worshipped. “So instead of them serving the community, the community now serves them, thereby giving them the opportunity to serve their pockets,” he added.
