ADELEKE: AREGBESOLA OKAYS MAGISTRATE AYILARA AS CORONER

In an apparent bid by the Osun State Government  to clear itself of any link with the sudden death of Senator Isiaka Adeleke,  the state governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has appointed  a coroner in person of Magistrate Olusegun Ayodele Ayilara to unearth the circumstances surrounding the demise of the Senator.

Adeleke representing Osun West Senatorial District at the Senate, had died on Sunday , 23rd April, to the shock of many because he was said  not to be  sick prior to his death.

The Controversy’s investigation revealed that the  development set tongues wagging ,with many concluding that he was allegedly  killed through poison due to the  governorship ambition he was said to be nursing .

It will be  recalled that the state chapter of the  All Progressive Congress allegedly intimidated by the profile of late politician  and that of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Lasun Yusuf, forbade them from flagging off  their  campaigns for the post of the governor.

Against this backdrop, the moment  Adeleke’s death was made public, his supporters went riotous, rough handling pro Aregbesola  politicians in the APC.

However , seemingly piqued by this  development and in order to unravel the cause of  the death of the first civilian governor of the state, the government put in a place a coroner’s inquest to look into it.

According to Aregbesola, the Magistrate Olusegun Ayodele Ayilara panel which is expected to complete its assignment within 3 weeks , is to look into the circumstances surrounding the death of the late Ede born politician who until his demise,  was the Senator representing  Osun West Senatorial District area ñ  of   the state.

The governor added that because of the status of Adeleke coupled with the mystery surrounding the death, it behoved the government to inquire what caused it.

Aregbesola said history would not forgive his government if it failed to look into what led to the demise of Adeleke, stressing ” we must do this for history purpose because it is in the general interest of the community and state to investigate any sudden or unnatural death of this nature”.

Though already interred, the dust raised by the suddenness of Adeleke’s death, is yet to settle as many in and around the state , still hold the believe that  he was poisoned because of the 2018 governorship race in the state.

Meanwhile as this rages, it will be recalled too  that Hon Lasun Yusuff, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, last week raised an alarm that there were plots to eliminate him in the state.

Though he did not mention names, however the state chapter of the  APC accused him of embarking on cheap blackmail, describing his allegation as self seeking.
