IDP Camp: Osun APC faults pensioners

Toba Adedeji, Osogbo

The Osun State All Progressive Congress has faulted the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Osun State branch, Forum of 2011/2012 over the launched Internally Displaced Pensioners camp in the state and warned the retirees of been used by the opposition.

In a statement issued by the party Director of Publicity, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi stated that the intention of the the pensioners has political undertone which might not be known to their aggrieved minds.

The statement reads ” the show was intended to call on the federal authorities to investigate the disbursement of the N11.7 billion recently made available to the state for payment of salaries and pensions”

“Retired civil servant is on the payroll of the government and should not  allow himself or herself to be abused for adversarial political propaganda against the state”

“The event was a display of shame hospitality by those who are fixated on delegitimising and slandering the APC government led by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola”

”They could have done so without making pensioners – who were covered by the payment recently disbursed – their object of ridicule”

“The purported amount spent by Aregbesola to pay salaries and pensions, anybody who cares to know the facts can come over to Osogbo and verify”

”Those behind the ‘Internally Displaced Pensioners Camp’ in Osogbo are exploiters whose motive are political than humanitarian”.

Therefore, we declare that no amount of slander, blackmail and negative publicity will diminish the facts of what has been done by Gov. Aregbesola for the good of Osun people despite the challenges confronting the state.”The Statement concluded”.
