Christmas: Bello calls for concerted effort to reduce hunger

By Mustapha Aleem

A Former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon Adejare Bello, has called on well-meaning Nigerians to contribute their efforts into reducing the hunger that is slugging it out with the country.

He said this in a press release he put out to celebrate Christmas on Sunday.

He said it was only through joint efforts from all and sundry that would pull-off the country from the mess she is currently in.

His message reads in part, ” there is no masking the fact that Nigeria is in problems most especially, with the recession slugging it out with us and for this reason, I want everyone to be prayerful. There is no other shortcut to solving this except prayer.

” This is not the period for us to start segregating. All we need now is peace, which can only ensure we get out of this toil unscratched. I am a Muslim and I have nothing to do with Christians. I am a Christian and I have nothing to do with Muslims. All these assertions should not be found in our mouths or minds as well meaning Nigerians.

” I see a beautiful Nigeria that has a development envied by other countries. I see a beautiful Nigeria that her citizens know no war, pestilence, famine and impunity. Of course this is the type of Nigeria I dream of if we don’t encourage cleavages. Pray for Peace, pray for Nigeria.”
