Several Passengers Injured In Osun Bus Accident

Several road users were held up in between akoda and sekona along Gbongan-Ibadan expressway in Osun State following a lone accident.

The commercial bus travelling from Osogbo to Gbongan was said to have summersaulted, leaving many passengers injured.

It is not clear yet what actually led to the accident.

An eyewitness, Rafiu Kazeem, said none of the passengers died on the spot but feared they all sustained varying degrees of injury and had been rushed to hospital.

‎ “We were  walking by when we suddenly heard a screeching noise on the road, before we got there, the bus had summersaulted. Nobody died but some were terribly injured. Luckily for them someone called ambulance that took them to a hospital in Osogbo,” the eyewitness told Channels Television.

Road safety officers and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps were, however, on ground to help restore normalcy to the traffic occasioned by the accident.

Nigeria’s Road safety agency has continued to warn commercial drivers to reduce speed and ensure their vehicles are in order before they embark on any journey, as the festive period draws near.
