Recession: Ashimolowo urges Nigerians to seek divine intervention

The Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), London, Mathew Ashimolowo and Rev Chidi Okoroafor of the Assemblies of God Church, Nigeria, have asked Nigerians to pray for God’s intervention for the country to overcome the current economic crisis.

He said putting hopes on leaders and economists will not solve the nation’s problems.

Both men gave the charge at the Evangel Camp of Assemblies of God Church, Okpoto in Ebonyi State yesterday while answering questions on the way out of the nation’s economic recession.

Ashimolowo, who was the Guest Preacher urged Nigerians to rely on God for solutions in overcoming the perilous times.

The London-based cleric declared: “Some nations, even if they have bad leaders, once they go to God in prayer, will make a way for them. But where the Church fails in raising men that is when there will be problem.

“Apart from God and the scripture, we can’t make a head way in situations like this. You cannot rely on broken men to heal a broken country; for you to overcome a problem, you need a power greater than the one that caused the problem and that power is Jesus Christ”.
