Osogbo – A 27-year-old man, Jamiu Akinyemi, on Friday appeared before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing properties worth N1.2 million.
The accused is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and theft.
The Prosecutor, Insp Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that the accused committed the offence between February and June at Olacom Global Resources in Osogbo in Osun.
Abiodun alleged that the accused stole some properties valued at about N1.2 million from the company while working there as a staff.
He said the offences contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol.11, Laws of Osun, 2003.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.
Counsel to the accused, Mr Mudashiru Babatunde, prayed the magistrate to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mr Olusola Aluko, granted the accused bail in the sum of N500, 000 and two sureties in the like sum.
Aluko said the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must show evidence of tax payment to Osun Government.
He adjourned the case to Jan. 17, 2017 for mention.
