CBCIU will inspire Africanity consciousness – Oyinlola

The former Governor of Osun state, Price Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has stated the centre for Black Culture and International Understanding would continue to inspire renewed consciousness for Africans and African in the Diaspora as a way of utilizing the cultural endowment for development.

Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola who is the Chairman of the board of trustees of the centre for Black Culture and International Organization, made this known at a workshop tagged: “Religious identity and inter-faith relations in South-West Nigeria” held in Osogbo, on Thursday.

In his address, he stated that religious intolerance had assumed worrisome dimensions all over the world, and the entire world was in turmoil, which he said was occasioned by socio-economic, religious and political problems that breaches.

“We believe very strongly that open constructive dialogues among civilizations are the main conditions for victory over forces of hatred, separatism and extremism”, Oyinlola stated.

The former registrar of Osun state University, Mr. Siyan Oyeweso who was also present at the workshop said that the most tolerant religion remained the traditional religion and that if the religion was problematic, there could have been more problems in the society today.

Oyinlola added that, CBCIU would continue to support the type of endeavour that conforms to the mandate of the centre, especially in recognition of the roles that Cultures and religions play in attempt to develop nations of the world and shape the new world order.
