Ooni advises Buhari

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has tasked the Federal Government as well as all state governments to take youth empowerment seriously in order to tackle rising insecurity in the country.

The Ooni, who spoke through the Director of Media and Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace, Moses Olafare, said this in Ile Ife, Osun State on Wednesday at a press conference to herald the activities marking the first anniversary of his ascension to the throne.

He said, “His Imperial Majesty has engaged youths in  construction and agricultural activities and there has been drastic reduction in crime rate in Ile-Ife and its environs because of these activities.

“All activities being organised to mark this one-year anniversary would be tailored towards getting more youths engaged. The federal and state governments should do more to empower the teeming youths. This will reduce the problem of insecurity and militancy.”

Olafare said this just as the organisers of a carnival tagged “O ti seese Carnival, 2016,” to mark the first anniversary of the ascension to the throne of Oba Ogunwusi said it would attract a million people.
