At some point in their lives, millions of women will suffer from a range of common and less common female related conditions. Remember, not only age, time and mood but several other factors can interfere with your genital health as a woman.
Experts listed few common factors affecting female Genital Health:
Use of antibiotics. These medicines upset the normal balance between yeast and bacteria in the va gina. Antibiotics can kill too much “good” bacteria, says doctors.
S3x: Unprotected s3x can result in a s3xually transmitted infection. Forceful, unsolicited s3x or an injury to the pelvic area can also result in va ginal trauma, which can also affect the overall female genital health.
Certain health conditions or treatments like pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) and endometriosis.
According to expert, endometriosis causes inflammation and pain either mild or severe which can last for days, within the pelvic region and lower abdomen.
PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease): Is an infection of female genital tracts which can be caused by bacteria, virus or worms (in some cases). The typical signs of PID include fever, menstrual irregularities and pain in lower abdomen.
Va ginal tears during childbirth, va ginal dryness or trauma after a s3xual abuse incident can affect the female genital health.
Feminine hygiene products used for douching can affect the health of the va gina. From research, douching may cause an overgrowth of harmful bacteria which could lead infection.
Va ginitis. An infection or change in the normal balance of yeast and bacteria ‘down there’ can cause inflammation of the va gina (vaginitis). Symptoms include discharge, odour, itching and pain.
Birth control. Some people experience changes in va ginal discharge when taking the pill. If you are concerned about such changes, speak with your doctor.
